OKRA

Okra (Turkish bamya; ocker, bamia, gombo, bamias, gumbo) is cultivated in the middle and western Anatolia. Bamya from Amasya and Balikesir are especially known for their quality. It is used in Turkish cuisine in both its fresh and dried forms. Okra is considered beneficial for regulating bowel movements.
