UNESCO REPRESENTATIVE LIST OF
THE INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF HUMANITY IN TURKEY

In 2008, UNESCO established the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in order to ensure the protection of important intangible cultural heritages worldwide and the awareness of their significance as well as the preservation of traditions in the world.

As of 2016, Turkey has 15 elements inscribed on the list of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

There are two on-going and four pending nominations for Turkey to enter the list of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
