MANDARIN ORANGE (CITRUS RETICULATA)

The mandarin orange is a citrus fruit, and a member of the rue family (Rutaceae), which grows in temperate climates. Mandarin oranges originate in Southeast Asia, from which they spread to other areas of the world. In Turkey, they are raised along the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts, as well as the Black Sea, especially around Rize and Artvin. There are four main types of mandarin orange: mandarin, Satsuma, King and Aegean mandarin.
