TURKISH TOWEL

A Turkish towel is bath towel approximately 90 by 110 cm in size, made of linen or cotton and later in the 18th century with a looped pile section in the center. These towels were produced for the ceremonial bath for the bride before the wedding and for important occasions later in life. A complete set of towels, one for the hips, one for the shoulder and one for the head is needed for the Turkish bath, the "hamam".
