Art Profile :

Mustafa Kunt was born in Ankara in 1978. He graduated from the Sculpture Department of Hacettepe University. He then went to Frankfurt and completed his mater’s degree with Wolfgang Tillmans at the Stadel Art Academy. Since then, he has routinely collaborated with Özlem Günyol in Germany and Turkey. Their subjects are the language and symbols of the media, and the meaning of language.  Working with a range of media, from video to installation, ink-jet prints to artists’ books, they interrogate and dismantle perceived notions of identity, advocating pluralism over homogeneity. In 2008, Kunt had a solo exhibition “Vier Mustafa Kunt III” at the Museum für Moderne Kunst (MMK) in Frankfurt / Main. He has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Currently, Kunt lives and works in Frankfurt / Main.
