Vildan Çetintaş was born in Izmir in 1951. She graduated from the Institute of Training, Department of Fine Arts Education in Izmir. She then completed master’s degree at the Sculpture Department in the State Academy of Fine Art of Mimar Sinan University in 1982; doctoral degree, proficiency in arts at Selçuk University in 1991. Çetintaş became an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Vocational Education of Gazi University in 1996. Between 1983 and 1996, she worked as a sculpture restorer in the State Museum of Painting and Sculpture in Ankara. In 2003, she received doctoral degree at the Department of Art History in the Institute of Social Sciences of Hacettepe University. Çetintaş received her research certificate from Michigan University. In 2004, she became an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Vocational Education of Gazi University. She has had 6 solo exhibitions and participated in over 40 group exhibitions. She has also attended many symposiums, workshops and festivals in Turkey. Çetintaş won a Sculpture Award of Merit in the 67th State Painting and Sculpture Competition. Her works can be seen in public and private collections in Turkey and abroad. As of today, Çetintaş continues to teach at Gazi University.
