Osman Dinç was born in Denizli in 1948. He graduated from the Department of Painting at Gazi Educational Institution in 1969. Between 1969 and 1972 he worked as a painting teacher. In 1972 he went to Paris and graduated from the Paris Fine Arts Academy in 1975. After he worked at the Bursa Educational Institution for 2 years, he went back to Paris. Since 1977 he has been working as an instructor at Ecole Nationale De Beaux-Art Bourges in Paris.  Dinç has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in lots of group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. He won the UNESCO Big Prize in 1993. In 2003 he participated in the first International Stone Sculpture Symposium at the Department of Sculpture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Hacettepe University. His works can be seen in many collections such as the Art Collection of the Municipality of Paris, France; Istanbul Modern, Turkey; Merkez Bank Collection, Turkey; The Musée de Annecy Collection, France; and the State Museum of Sculpture and Painting, Ankara, Turkey. Dinç currently continues his work in Istanbul.
