Prof. Nilay Kan Büyükişliyen

Prof. Nilay Kan Büyükişliyen was born in Ankara in 1950. She entered the Sculpture Department at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, and studied with Nusret Suman, Tamer Başoğlu, and Hüseyin Gezer. After graduating from the Academy in 1971, Büyükişliyen worked as a research assistant at the Sculpture Department of Marmara University in 1984. She held her first solo exhibition in 1985. Since then, she has held more than 15 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. In 1986 Büyükişliyen completed her doctoral degree, proficiency in arts. After receiving Associate Professorship, She received her professorship in 2001. Büyükişliyen served as Head of the Sculpture Department and co-Head of the Sculpture Department. She currently continues teaching at Marmara university.
