Güneş Oktay was born in Istanbul in 1984. She graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University in 2006. Between 2006 and 2009, she continued her master’s degree at her alma mater. Oktay has participated in many workshops and group exhibitions in Turkey and Germany. Currently, she continued her work in Istanbul.
