Didem Özbek was born in 1970. Although she works with a wide variety of media, all of her pieces share a slightly anarchic streak. She has exhibited her works at many galleries such as Akbank Sanat, Istanbul (2003), Umetnostna Galerija Maribor (2006), International Design Center Nagoya (2008) and Frieze Art Fair (2008). Özbek founded PİST /// Interdisciplinary Project Space with Osman Bozkurt in 2006. They curated PiST projects such as “Reserved ’06 exhibition series”, “PiST/// 7-24 window display exhibitions”, “Turkish Pavilion”, “PiST/// PARK” and “PiST stand”. She also developed and created other conceptual projects for PiST including “Artist Information”, and “Tea Stand and White Sugar Cube Book”, Firenze (2008). Currently, Özbek lives and works Istanbul.
