İzel Rozental was born in Istanbul in 1951. Since 1971, he has drawn and published his caricatures and cartoons in various youth and humor magazines. In 1991, he started drawing editorial caricatures for Shalom newspaper. Since then, he has drawn political caricatures under the column “Tünelin Ucu” (End of the Tunnel). His caricatures, cartoons, and comic strips, which were based on the game bridge, were also published in France, the USA, and the UK between 1996 and 2000. Rozental has presented his works in various international caricature symposiums. He participated in a series of international conferences, which were organized by the Cartooning for Peace Foundation in Israel, Palestine, Japan, and New Zealand. He has published seven collections of political cartoons. He has had solo exhibitions, and participated in many group caricature exhibitions in Turkey, France, Scotland, Netherlands, Israel, Japan, Austria, and Bulgaria. Rozental is an author of humor novels, and has published five books. He served as an associate president of FECO in 2006-2009. Currently, Rozental serves as the director in the Schneidertempel Art Center and Dr. Markus Culture and Arts Association.
