Prof. Melih Görgün was born in Sinop in 1962. He graduated from the Faculty of Art Education at Marmara University in 1985, and then completed his master′s degree at the Institute of Social Science of Istanbul Technical University in 1989; and doctoral degree at the Graphic Program in the Institute of Social Science at Mimar Sinan University in 1994. Since 2004, he has served as a Professor at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. In 2005, Görgün worked as an artist in residence at the Quartier 21 program in the Museums Quartier, Wien for three months. He has had many solo exhibitions and performances, and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Since 2001, he has also curated many national and international exhibitions, including working as a curator of Siemens Art for a year. Görgün is a co-founder and general coordinator of Sinop International Biennial "Sinopale"; and a founder of European Cultural Association and art portal "Europist.net". His articles have been published in several newspapers and art magazines. He worked as a guest editor for the catalogues of the 6th and 8th International Istanbul Graphic Design Week.
