İbrahim Çiftçioğlu was born in Çorum in 1952. He finished Çorum primary school in 1970 and Gazi Educational Institution, the Department of Painting-Work Education in 1973. He graduated from the Faculty of Atatürk Education of Marmara University in 1986. He taught painting in Urfa until 1979. Çiftçioğlu was awarded 10th Cultural Art Prize and Plastic Arts Prize for his contribution to Art and Plastic Art education by Trojan Cultural Association. In 1988, he began publishing his private magazine “Atölye-Günışığı”. Çiftçioğlu served as an advisor in many associations, including the committees of UPSD. He also prepared programs of plastic Arts education for MEF schools. He curated International Bursa Festival (1990), Bursa Modern Turkish Painting (1990) and Modern Turkish Plastic Arts Exhibition on the occasion of 75th Anniversary of the Republic of Turkey (1998). Çiftçioğlu published many books by the name of the Bilim Sanat Gallery. In 1997, he wrote a book “Bir Yaprakta Bütün Dünya” for Veysel Günay, and published it by the Bilim Sanat Gallery. Çiftçioğlu retired from Marmara University in 1998. Since 1996, he has served as a member of the Scientific Institution in MEF Schools. He has had more than 40 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. As of today, Çiftçioğlu continues to work in his workshop in Istanbul.
