Gönül Güneş was born in Bursa. She graduated from the English Department in the Faculty of Education at Uludağ University. In 1997, she started painting with Saim Erken at the Yeşilyurt Art Club. Güneş has held many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. In 2009, she received second award in the Bursa Women painters’ competition. She currently continues painting in Istanbul. She is a member of the Association of Artists in Bakırköy (BASAD).
