Yılmaz Eneş was born in Istanbul in 1960. After finishing primary and middle school education, he learned how to make glass works from his father and glass artist Necmettin Eneş. Yılmaz worked as a glass artist for a long time. In 1994, he started learning marbling art (Ebru) from Tülay Taslacıoğlu at the Caferağa Culture Center. He obtained his professional license from the master Fuat Başar. In 1998, he began working at the Hüseyinağa Medrese Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Foundation in Küçük Ayasofya in Istanbul. Eneş has participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. He mainly makes marbling with flower designs. Because of his beautiful roses in marbling works, Eneş is nicknamed “Gülbaba”. He taught marbling art at Koç University (2002-2003) and Yıldız Technical University (2003-2004). Since 2002, he has worked at his workshop “Tarzukadimebru” in his house. Eneş also continues to teach in the Ebru club at Istanbul University.
