Hatice Uçar was born in Ankara in 1966. She graduated from Mithat Paşa Technical Vocational School for Girls. In 2003 she learned marbling (Ebru) from Hikmet Barutçugil. She pursued her studying in marbling with Yılmaz Eneş at the Tarz-ı Kadim Marbling House in 2004-2007. Uçar then learned illumination art (Tezhip) from Mamure Öz at the Turkish Decorative Arts Education Center at the TBMM National Palace Directorate in 2004-2006. She learned papercutting (Kaatı/ Katı) from Dürdane Ünver and Müjhan Başköylü in 2006-2008 and received her professional license. In 2007-2009, she finished illumination class, which was directed by Semih İrteş and Mamure Öz in the Topkapı Palace Museum. Uçar continued learning papercutting from Dürdane Ünver and Müjhan Başköylü at the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation in 2008-2009, and illumination art from Semih İrteş at the Nakkaş Illumination Arts Center in 2009-2011. Since 2007, Uçar has participated in many group exhibitions. She has received several awards for her papercutting works. Since 2011 she has taught papercutting at ISMEK in Istanbul.
