Turgut Alp Bekoğlu was born in 1966. He had an interest in musical rhythm in his childhood. He played drum semi-professionally in high school. In 1983, he became a professional drummer. After attending a research program at the Rotterdam Conservatory for 5 months, he went to New York to pursue his study for two years. Bekoğlu performed with Gloria Gayner on a stage. He has also accompanied famous Turkish artists such as Ajda Pekkan, Sezen Aksu and Nilüfer. Bekoğlu has performed in many recordings in the US and Turkey. He has participated in many national and international music festivals in Çeşme, Kuşadası, Houston, and New Orleans. Currently, Bekoğlu is a member of Jazz group “Telvin” and continues to play drums in Turkey and abroad.
