Taner Sayacıoğlu was born in Istanbul in 1966. He graduated from Erol Deran’s kanun workshop at the Turkish Music State Conservatory of Istanbul Technical University in 1986. In 1983, he started working as a qanun player at the Istanbul State Classical Turkish Music Choir, which belongs to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Since then, he has given many concerts with the Choir in Turkey and abroad, and has joined many recordings. In 1997, Sayacıoğlu joined İncesaz group. Since then, he has been a member of İncesaz group, and has performed in many concerts and performed for numerous TV dramas. Since 2001, Sayacıoğlu has released four CDs with İncesaz group. In 2000, with Osman Nuri Özpekel, he released the CD “Reşat Aysu”, which includes Reşat Aysu’s saz works. He has also performed with Yansımalar group, and recorded the CD “Pervâne” with them.
