Yaprak Sayar was born in Üsküdar, Istanbul in 1987. She took musical lessons from renowned teachers such as Amir Ateş and Atilla Gündüz at the Üsküdar Musiki Cemiyeti in 2004-2008. In 2004 She entered TRT Youth Chorus, directed by Serap Mutlu Akbulut. Sayar studied at the Department of Voice Training of Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory in 2005-2010. Since 2014 she has taught music repertoire at her alma mater.

In 2008, Sayar performed in the Boğaziçi Soloist Projects as part of activities of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture. In 2008-2013, she performed as the soloist in the TV program "Tarihin Arka Odası," which was presented by Murat Bardakçı. Since 2008 Sayar has performed as a soloist as well as a member of chorus in the Cemal Reşit Rey Turkish Music Ensemble. She has also performed in many concerts of Istanbul Fasıl Ensemble since 2011. Sayar teaches music repertoire and voice training to several groups at Marmara University and Bahçeşehir University. Since 2013 she has performed in a TV program “11 Kahvesi” (TRT Turk) every Sunday. Sayar currently continues her Master′s degree at the Department of Turkish Religious Music in the Faculty of Theology of Marmara University.
