Şenay Lambaoğlu was born in Kiel, Germany. She started singing in a chorus and an orchestra at school. She then studied Music and Drama at Pera School of Arts, where she worked with musicians such as Selçuk Sun, Şenova Ülker, Yaz Baltacıgil, Neşet Ruacan, Aydın Esen and Nilüfer Verdi. In 1995, Lambaoğlu joined Istanbul University European Community. While studying, she worked with many jazz musicians such as Selçuk Sun, Şenova Ülker, Yaz Baltacıgil, Neşet Ruacan, Aydın Esen and Nilüfer Verdi. In 1997, Lambaoğlu went to the US and worked with National Bermeyo in Boston. In the same time she joined Sheila Jordon′s vocal workshop at Harward University.
After returning to Istanbul, Lambaoğlu met Randy Esen and continued jazz vocal work with him. In 1998, she entered the Music Department in the Faculty of Arts and Design at Yıldız Technical University where she studied with Yıldız Dağdelen. Lambaoğlu also studied with prominent teachers including Ahmet Yürür, Şirin Pancaroğlu, Alper Maral and Çiğdem Erken. In 2000 Lambaoğlu performed in several concerts in Kiev. In 2002 she worked as jazz vocalist with many famed artists such as Yahya Dai, Leven Altında, Ercüment Ateş and Aycan Teztel within a project of Beck’s Big Band.
In 2005, Lambaoğlu completed Master’s degree at Yıldız Technical University. In 2007, she performed for Cem Koksak’s album “Siyah Beyaz Masallar.” In 2009, Lambaoğlu performed with Nilüfer Verdi and Andreas Buchmann in the International Istanbul Jazz Festival. Besides it, Lambaoğlu performed renowned Turkish Jazz artists such as Buçin Büke, Volkan Hürsever, Deniz Dündar as well as Kürşat Başar quartette. In 2012, Lambaoğlu worked with Ediz Hafızoğlu, Cem Tuncer, Ercüment Orkut, Kağan Yıldız, Eylem Pelit and Yahya Dai for her first solo album "İçimde Aşk Var." Lambaoğlu performed some pieces from her album with trumpeter Mederic Collignon in the 19th International Istanbul Jazz Festival. In 2014 she also performed in the 17th International Istanbul Jazz Festival. Her second album entitled “Zarf Tümleci” was released in 2014. For her album, Lambaoğlu worked with many famous artists including Barış Doğukan Yazıcı, Utku Akyol, Yahya Dai, Engin Recepoğulları, Cem Tuncer, Cenk Erdoğan, Ercüment Orkut, Can Çankaya, Volkan Hürsever and Ediz Hafızoğlu. In 2015 Lambaoğlu released her third album entitled "Başka Türlü Birşey." She currently continues to live and work in Istanbul.
