Bilgin Canaz was born in Çanakkale in 1972. He graduated from the Department of Folk Dances at Istanbul Technical University State Conservatory of Turkish Music in 1993. He pursued his study in music at the Department of Basic Sciences at Ege University State Conservatory of Turkish Music, and completed in 1998. In 1996, Canaz started working as an artist at TRT Izmir Radio. After completing his military service in 2000, Canaz continued his music career at TRT Ankara Radio; and participated in many radio and TV programs as a ney player (neyzen). He also performed ney for various musicians′ albums.

In 2003, Canaz participated in a project “Sufi from Flamenco.” As a part of this project, he gave concerts in various music festivals held in Holland, Belgium and Turkey. The album of this project has been released by Kalan Music. He also composed the sound track of the documentary “Dünden Bugüne Demir Yolları” broadcasted on Kanal B Television. He gave concerts as a soloist and one of other other ney players with Academic Symphony Orchestra, belongs to the Hacettepe University State Conservatory, conducted by Erol Erdinç, Istanbul State Opera and State Polyphonic Chorus, conducted by Serdar Yalçın, and Ankara State Opera and Polyphonic Chorus, conducted by Mustafa Erdoğan, as well as the Presidential Symphony Orchestra and Polyphonic Chorus, conducted by İbrahim Yazıcı.

Canaz accompanied Greek artist Maria Farantouri and Zülfü Livaneli with Hacettepe Symphony Orchestra and Polyphonic Chorus. In 2007, Canaz performed Mevlana Oratorio as a soloist and one of other ney players at Aya İrini Museum and Aspendos Antique Theatre together with Istanbul State Opera and State Polyphonic Chorus. He gave concerts in the US and Izmir Art Festival with the group “Tanini Trio”, which he founded with Tahir Aydoğdu (kanun player) and Hakan Toker (pianist). Canaz performed as a guest artist in the concert of vocal virtuoso Yıldız İbrahimova. In 2008, he performed as ney soloist and one of other ney players with Mavi Siyah Flamenco Ensemble in the International Ankara Flamenco Festival. He also gave a concert in the Presidential Palace to the President of Turkey and Queen Elizabeth II of England together with composer and arranger Can Atlilla. Canaz has released the album "Dokunuşlar" in which he performed Western and Classical Turkish Music pieces together with the group “Tanini Trio.”
