Muzaffer Çorlu was born in Munich in 1969. He started his musical study with violin and flute. He began learning guitar from Krikor Turutyan and continued to learn guitar at Krefeld Musik Schule. At Disburg University, he studied Tarrega and Villa-Lobos with Assoc. Prof. Humberto Quesquen. After Çorlu completed a proficiency class with Prof. Michael Koch in Austria, he participated in many master classes in Europe. In 1999, his CD “Scarlatti Guitar Duo” was recorded in Germany and won critical acclaim. Çorlu founded a guitar orchestra, "Collegium Cithara Istanbul", and conducted it. He has participated in many international guitar festivals both in Turkey and abroad. Besides guitar study, he also completed psychology study in Istanbul University in 1990, and has given many seminars and conferences about “stage fright”, “anxiety about music performance” and “brain and music”. In 2003 Çorlu was awarded as "the best classic guitarist of the year" by Müjdat Gezen Art Foundation. As of today, he teaches at the Department of Music and Performing Arts in the Art and Design Faculty of Yıldız Technical University.
