Vedat Sakman was born in Konya in 1949. He started performing drums at his high school in Izmir.  He then began playing guitar. In the 1970′s, Sakman founded a group and performed his songs with them.  After performing with the group “Doğuş” for 12 years, Sakman composed pop music songs for commercials and films. In 1989 he released his first solo album "Musician." In 1990-1991 he composed, arranged and wrote songs for Zuhal Olçay′s albums "Küçük Bir Öykü" and "İki Çift laf." In 1992 Sakman released his second solo album "Kapılar." In the following year, he worked as a music director for the play "Blood brothers." In 1994 he released his third album "Sevgileri Unutmadık." In 1998 he worked as a music director and wrote songs and arranged the album of Zuhal Olçay′s "İhanet," and of Leman Sam′s “İlla ve Hümeyra′nın Beyhude."

Since 2001 Sakman has produced music at the Sakman Production Company. In 2002 he released his forth album "Usulca." In 2004 he directed and composed music for the musical "Atlarıda Vururlar," which was staged in the State Theatres. Sakman released an album "Kendini Saklama Çiçekleri" (2008) with Cezmi Ersöz, "Yaşamın Gözlerin kadar güzel olsun" (2011) and "Odada İkimiz" (2013). In 2012 Sakman composed and arranged Leman Sam′s album "Nereye kadar," for which he wrote songs, too. Sakman currently continues performing in Istanbul.
