Erdal Özyağcılar was born in İznik, Bursa in 1948. As an actor, he debuted in the film "Ölüm Tarlası" in 1967. Since then he has acted in numerous theater plays as well as films and TV series including "Abdülhamit Düşerken" (film, 2002), "Yabancı Damat" (TV series, 2004), "Elveda Rumeli" (2007, TV series), "Karadağlar" (TV series, 2010) and Sevdaluk (TV series, 2013). He has also worked as a voice actor. Özyağcılar has received several awards including the “Best Supporting Actor” in the 23rd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in 1986, the “Best TV Actor” in the Ismail Dümbüllü Awards in 2008, and the “Best Actor” in the 31st Radio Television Journalists′ Association TV Oscars in 2009. After retiring from the Istanbul Municipality Theatre, Özyağcılar continues acting in many Theatres, films and TV series.
