Mine Söğüt was born in Istanbul in 1968. After graduating from the Department of Latin Language and Literature in the Faculty of Letters at Istanbul University in 1989, she completed her master′s degree at the same university. She started working as a journalist in Güneş newspaper in 1990. She then worked for Tempo magazine and Yeni Yüzyıl newspaper. In 1993, she received a mention award in the section of "News" in a competition, which was organized by the Turkish Journalists′ Association. From 1996 to 2000, she worked as a copywriter for a TV documentary program "Habercı." In 1999-2001, she wrote for Öküz magazine.

Söğüt published her first book "Adalet Cimcoz: Bir Yaşam Öyküsü Denemesi" in 2000. Since then, she has published novels, biographies, monographs, and collections such as "Beş Sevim Apartmanı /Rüya Tabirli Cin Peri Yalanları" (YKY, 2004), "Kırmızı Zaman" (YKY, 2004), "Sevgili Doğan Kardeş" (YKY, 2003), "Şahbaz′ın Harikulade Yılı 1979" (YKY, 2007), "Dolapdere: Kürt Kediler Çingene Kelebekler" (2010), and "Madam Arthur Bey ve Hayatındaki Her Şey" (YKY, 2010). Söğüt currently lives and works in Istanbul.
