Borga Kantürk was born in Izmir in 1978. He completed his BA (1999) and MA (2003) at the Painting Department of Dokuz Eylül University. He continued his doctoral degree at his alma mater. Since 2002, he has been working as an assistant at his alma mater. After studying in Helsinki with the support of Platform Garanti Modern Art Center and Helsinki HIAP, Kantürk has curated many exhibitions and organizations with FRAME (Finland), AvArkki (Finland), and K2 Art Center (Izmir). He has had several solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Kantürk was the founder and director of KUTU Portable Art Venue Project between 2001 and 2005. In 2001, he received an award of  merit in the 62th State Painting Museum Competition. He was also one of the founders of K2 Art Center. He was one of the curators at the 10th Istanbul Biennial “Nightcomers” project. Currently, Kantürk continues his work in Izmir.
