Ayşe Erkmen was born in Istanbul in 1949. She lives and works in Berlin and Istanbul. She has had many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Her spectacular public projects and subtle architectural interventions engage with the architectural, historical, and cultural context of the site she is working with.
