Ali Miharbi was born in Istanbul in 1976. After studying Electrical and Computer Engineering and Art Theory & Practice (Concentration in Painting) at Northwestern University, Ali Miharbi completed his Master′s degree in Kinetic Imaging at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010. His work can take many forms ranging from photographic, graphic and sculptural pieces to dynamic systems driven by live or stored data. His recent work investigates the relationships between analytic and synthetic processes. Using his background in engineering, Miharbi takes systems within the fields of economy, management, psychology, sociology, computer science, and linguistics; where top-down and bottom-up approaches are used in conjunction to create fruitful feedback loops or conceptual short-circuits. Miharbi has held many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad.
