Sibel Avcı Tuğal

Sibel Avcı Tuğal became interested in painting at an early age. Her first solo exhibition was held in 1969 at the Bolu Fine Arts Academy Gallery, and her second exhibition was in 1973 at the General Exhibition Centre Hall, Kızlay in Ankara. She has participated in joint exhibitions in painting, photography and engraving. Sibel Tuğal graduated from the Faculty of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Istanbul Technique University in 1985. She worked as project coordinator for a company founded jointly with a foreign partner in the field of Communications. In 1988, she began working for a while as art director and public relations manager for a family company set up to design graphics and CD-ROMS. From 2003 to 2006, while living abroad, she continued her work as a webpage and graphic designer. Since 1995 she has been working on computer based design composition while pursuing her artistic work in different techniques. From April 2007 onwards she has worked as a secretary of Prof. Dr. Süleyman Saim Tekcan, the founder and dean of Işık University Fine Arts Faculty. Since July 2007, she has also been working at Işık University Fine Arts Faculty as a lecturer with additional responsibility for Faculty Public Relations.
