Orhan Cem Çetin was born in Istanbul in 1960. He graduated from the Department of Psychology at Boğaziçi University in 1982. He had his first solo exhibition in 1988. Since then he has had numerous solo exhibition and shows, and participated in many group exhibitions.

Besides being a free lance photographer and a consultant on photography and photographic technology, Çetin teaches photography at several Universities and institutions including Istanbul University, Faculty of Communication, Yıldız Technical University, Vocational School of Arts and Crafts, Yeditepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Istanbul University, Faculty of Communication, Akademi Istanbul, Istanbul Bilgi University Workshops, IFSAK and Galata Fotoğrafhanesi since 1988. He has also worked as a photography editor, translator and photography writer. His personal works, essays, and critiques are published in various printed periodicals as well as e-zines. In 2000, Çetin released a mini album, “Renk’arnasyon” through Karakutu Cep Photograph Albums series, and his book “Bedava Gergedan” was published by the Okuyanus Publication House in 2004. His second book “TutKeep” will be published in 2009. In his exhibitions and performances, Çetin is recognized for his focus on a conceptual and interdisciplinary approach. His photographs can be seen in many private collections and corporate properties. As of today, Çetin teaches at the Photography and Video Program in the Faculty of Communication of Bilgi University.
