Faruk Akbaş is a freelance photographer who is focused on life and nature. His photo-interviews have been published in magazines and online media such as Fotoğraf Dergisi, Photo Digital, Skylife, Fujifilm Dünyası, Cumhuriyet Gezi. He is also the Photography Editor of Kâmil Koç: Yolculuk magazine (www.yolculuk.com.tr). Akbaş has been working for companies from Turkey and in various countries. Tourism, automotive and fashion are the subjects of those works. Akbaş moved to Fethiye in 1999 and established Kayaköy Art Camp that had courses for photography, painting, sculpture and ceramics. (www.sanatkampi.com) Yellow Bus – Akbaş had done photograph projects sponsored by Fujifilm Turkey; he had done overland photo trips to many Asian and African countries including Afghanistan, China, Siberia, Mongolia, India and Nepal. He shot documentaries during those trips which were broadcasted at TRT and Iz TV. Akbaş also taught photography at Hacettepe University and Akdeniz University. He published books as well. He had taken photographs all around Turkey about nature, cultural life, historical wealth; some of his photographs have been used at Turkey albums, product catalogues.

Akbaş had received many awards including from Abdi Ipekci Society-Peace; Human Right Association; British Culture Association; TMMOB and Culture Ministry. He has been a jury at many photography contests. He had opened exhibitions in England, Hungary, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Georgina. He had been invited to China by China Photograph Federation and joined photograph festivals.
