Engin Akçin was born in Eskişehir in 1957. He received additional education at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts from 1974 to 1982. Since 1982, he has been working as a freelance designer, architect in Istanbul while staying occupied with painting. In 2002 he took up digital imagery in a more serious and professional way. He believes that it is worth exploring the unending possibilities of visual art afforded by digital technology. His works were exhibited at the 2003 Istanbul Art Fair and in various joint exhibitions, including one at the Ilayda Art gallery and in a solo exhibition entitled “Impossible Bodies” at Taksim Art Gallery in 2004. In 2006, the work he prepared jointly with Sencer Gülün, called “Numerical Approaches” was exhibited under the auspices of the 4th International Symposium on Collaborative Design at Yeditepe University.
