Emre Hüner was born in Istanbul in 1977. He graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where he studied filmmaking. He works in various media including drawing, video and site-specific works. Hyper technological, industrial developments and the related concept of the risk society and the modern human being’s relation to architecture and nature lie at the centre of his work. Hüner uses an archive he has formed from various sources such as the Internet, found photographs and books to create a common language in all his works. He has had several solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions such as “Con Altri Occhi” (2005) at the Palazzo della Ragione, “Video Invitational #2” (2006) at Via Farini, Milano, “Fairytale” at TICA, the Tiran Contemporary Art Institute (2007), the 10th International Istanbul Biennial, Istanbul (2007), "Manifesta 7 – the Rest of Now", South Tyrol (2008), and “the Generational: Younger then Jesus” at the New Museum, New York (2009).
