Birsen Özbilge was born in Ankara in 1970. Soon after, her family moved to Istanbul. After graduating from Kandilli High School for Girls in 1987, she entered Mimar Sinan, The Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul and graduated in Paintings with Mosaic and Fresco. Since then, she has exhibited her works in several collective shows in Istanbul. In 1996, Özbilge had her first solo exhibition "Pulp Art" in Sefahatane, Istanbul. Özbilge then moved to New York, where she lived for seven years, and worked for Novo Art Design Company as a painter. In 2001, she worked for the Frick Collection in Manhattan, New York, where she also participated in two group exhibitions.

In 2003, Özbilge moved to the Canary Islands, Spain. She currently works on the project "Cactusueños" (Cactus Dreams). She completed the "Ars Longa Vita Brevis" (Arts is Long, Life is Short) project in March 2011 and exhibited it at the Odakule Art Gallery in Istanbul. Her works can be seen in many private collections mostly in Turkey, United States, Spain, France, and United Kingdom.
