Ali İsmail Türemen was born in Istanbul in 1942. He graduated from the State Academy of Fine and Applied Arts in 1968. He had his first exhibition in the German Culture Center, Istanbul in 1970. In the same year, he had another exhibition in Ankara. In 1975, Türemen won an award of merit in the 9th DYO exhibition. In the next year, he received an award of merit in the painting section of the Istanbul Archaeology Museums Open Air Exhibition. In 1979, he was awarded a prize of visual arts with Mehmet Güleryüz by the Sedat Simavi Foundation. Currently, Türemen teaches basic art instruction and design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Marmara University.
