Ahmet Öcal was born in Yalvaç, the district of Isparta in 1962. He has been drawing pictures, generally figurative pictures since 1989. He has had 13 solo exhibitions and participated in two group exhibitions in Turkey. In 1990s, Öcal opened a workshop in Maltepe, Istanbul. He is one of the founders of Maltepe Art Galleries. He has expressed infinite loneliness and sorrow of human beings in his works. He develops the technique and uses x-ray films instead of canvas. His works can be seen in many collections in Turkey and abroad. In 2002, Öcal won a mention prize in the Antalya First Painting Festival. He still works as a doctoral student and assistant at Süleyman Demirel University in Isparta.
