Ahmet Fazıl Aksoy

Ahmet Fazıl Aksoy was born in Samsun in 1949. After finishing Persembe Teacher´s School and Ondokuz Mayis High School, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University and worked as a lawyer for a short time. In 1980, he changed his career from lawyer to painter. Aksoy had an interest in painting in his childhood. He has continued to paint for more than 30 years. The advices of Burhan Uygur and Cihan Burak contributed a positive effect on his paintings. Generally Aksoy has painted landscape of Istanbul: Emirgan, Maiden Tower, Haliç, Sarıyer, Üsküdar, Kandilli, Anadolu, Rumeli Kavağı, Çubuklu and Galata. He reflects the beauties of these places to his canvas. He has held many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. His paintings can be seen in private and public collections in Turkey and England. Aksoy currently continues his work at his workshop in Istanbul.
