Evren Tekinoktay was born in Copenhagen in 1972. She finished at Gerrit Rietveld Academy, College for Art and Design in Amsterdam in 1997. Between 1997 and 1999, she studied at Jan van Eyck Akademie, Postgraduate Center for Fine Art, Design and Theory in Maastricht. She then continued her study with Prof. Claus Carstensen in the Fine Art Department at the Royal Danish Art Academy in Copenhagen between 1998 and 1999. She has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and Europe. In 2003, Tekinoktay created and opened “Tekinoktay Finest Lingerie” boutique in Copenhagen. In 2004, her poster was chosen for the “Copenhagen Jazz Festival”. In 2007, she won SAS / Scanorama prize in the category of culture. In 2008, Tekinoktay arranged and participated in the exhibition “Kunst Giver Live” (Art Gives Life) for Breast Cancer Research, Kunstindustrimuseet Copenhagen, and created the official poster for this exhibition. Currently, she lives and works in Copenhagen.
