Candeger Furtun was born in 1936. She graduated from the Ceramic Department at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1959. She completed her master’s degree at Rochester Institute of Technology School for American Craftsmen in 1963. She has made ceramic works from cups to sculptures. Since 1970s, she has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in lots of group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Since 1990s, she has made body parts such as arms, legs, hands and foots, separating from body to emphasize uniqueness.
