Burçak Bingöl was born in Görele in 1976. She graduated from the Department of Choir at State Conservatory of Hacettepe University in 1991. In 1996, she started studying ceramics at the Ceramic Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Hacettepe University, and graduated in 2000. Between 1998 and 2000, she worked as an advisor in the preparation courses at her alma mater. In 2002, Bingöl worked as an intern at several ceramic studios including Seven Montgomery’s Ceramic Studio and Marek Cecula’s Ceramic Studio in New York. She completed her master’s degree (2002) and doctoral degree (2008) at her alma mater. During that period, she worked as a research assistant. In 2009, Bingöl went to New York to study at the Department of General Studies, Photography of the New School. She also worked as an instructor at Choplet Design Studio and as an assistant of Dr. Judith Schwards.

Since 2001 Bingöl has participated in many group exhibitions and held many solo exhibitions  in Turkey and abroad. In 2004 she participated as a guest artist in the Second International Contemporary Ceramic Sessions in Buenos Aires and Obera, where she had her workshops and gave lectures on “Modular Structural Ceramics.” In 2006, Bingöl worked as an artist in resident, and held her solo exhibition “syste-matic” in the end of 8 months at Hunter College in New York.  In 2007 she won a honorable mention award for her work “Constant Variable” in the International Miniature Ceramic Competition Exhibition in Zagreb, Croatia. Her works can be seen in many private and university collections including David Pilot Collection (USA), Ronald Kuchta Collection (USA), Ziraat Bank (Ankara, Turkey), Presidency of Hacettepe University (Ankara, Turkey), and outdoor installation in Paso De Los Libres (Argentina). In 2016 her work "Broken II" (2013) was included in the Permanent Collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Bingöl currently continues her work in Istanbul.
