Betül Kırkan

Betül Kırkan was born in Istanbul in 1971. She graduated from Istanbul Bakırköy Imam Hatip High School. She learned calligraphy from Hüseyin Kutlu and obtained her professional license in sülüs and nesih scripts. In 2005 Kırkan won the second award in the branch of sülüs and nesih scripts in the Albaraka Turkish Calligraphy Competition. She currently serves as the director of calligraphy group in the Library of Turkish Islamic Applied Arts.
