Ayten Turanlı

Ayten Turanlı was born in Eskişehir in 1951. She graduated from the Seramic Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at George Washington University in 1996.  After working at Clayworks Ceramic Studio in Baltimore in 1996-1997, she returned to Turkey and started working at Pi Artworks as a ceramic instructor and director of Ceramic Studio. Turanlı creates large-scale sculptural installations with ceramics. She has held many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. She received a special award in the 6th International Cairo Ceramic Biennial in 2002. Turanlı is currently working at Pi Artworks in Istanbul.
