Prof. Atilla Atar was born in Trabzon in 1944. He graduated from the Department of Painting and Decorative Arts at Gazi Institute of Education in 1965. He completed master’s degree at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris in 1981. After he returned to Turkey, he continued his studies at Mimar Sinan University and received proficiency in art degree in 1986. He began working as an associate professor at Eskişehir Anadolu University, Vocational School of Fine Arts in 1990. He received a title of professor in 1995. Between 2000 and 2009, Atar served as a Department Chair in the Graphic Department in the Faculty of Fine Art of Anadolu University. He had his first solo exhibition in the American Culture Association in Izmir in 1988. He has had 16 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions, biennials and triennials in Turkey and abroad. As of today, Atar teaches at Anadolu University and continues his work in Eskişehir.
