Aşkın Ayrancıoğlu was born in Bağlıca village in the district of Sinop in 1969. He graduated from the Painting Department at Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University in 1991. Since 1987, he has painted and drawn caricatures, and taken photographs. Ayrancıoğlu has published two books: “Yüzünden Düşen Bin Umut” (2000), and “Sanat Yolu-1 / Yatılı Okuldan Geçen Yol” (2005). He had his first solo exhibition in the Bağlıca village in 1990. Since then, he has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in various group exhibitions. He has also participated in numerous international and national caricature competitions, and has received more than 40 awards. His works have been published in many albums, newspapers, and magazines. His caricatures can be seen in museums in Yugoslavia, Cyprus, Turkey, Romania, the US, Japan and Italy.  He has drawn in the magazine “Özgür Düşün”, “Uzun Yürüyüş” and “İnat”, which have been published since 2003. In 2003, Ayrancıoğlu won signal reward in the Second Free cartoons web International Caricature Competition, which was held in China. In 2007, he was awarded first prize in the free category of China Olympic Caricature Competition. In 2011, he received first place in the First Antalya National Caricature Competition.
