Alattin Aksoy was born in Trabzon in 1942.  He studied at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, the workshop of Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu between 1963 and 1968. When he was a student, his works were exhibited at Paris Modern Arts Museum within the context of Young Artists Biennial. He had his first solo exhibition at the German Culture Center in Istanbul in 1969. In 1972, Aksoy received a fellowship from the Turkish Government and went to France. During his staying in Paris for 5 years, he participated in many group exhibitions in France. In 1975, his stone lithograph works were exhibited in Soul. He returned to Turkey in 1977 and started teaching at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Mimar Sinan University. As of today, Aksoy continues to teach at Mimar Sinan University. In addition, he works in his studio. Aksoy has received several awards.
