Akın Yıldırım was born in Ordu in 1963. He graduated from the Department of Basic Arts and Science in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University in 1985. He has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in lots of group exhibitions in Istanbul, New York, Boston and Paris. He was one of the participants of the Turkish delegation in an international exhibition at Louvre Museum. In 2008, Yıldırım received Jury Special Award from the Turkish Delegation. He has been making his works using materials such as wood, born and copper. Currently, Yıldırım works in Istanbul.
