Eti Koen was born in Istanbul. In 1990, she attended Linda Robinson’s classical patchwork classes in the Turkish American University Association, and learned classic patchwork. In time, she developed her technique and created her own style and technique, named “Kumaşla Tasvir”. Koen has embroidered not only classical patchwork patterns but also traditional Ottoman and Islamic motifs, Istanbul views and miniatures on her works. Since 1993, she has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions. Currently, Koen continues to work and teach at her workshop in Istanbul.
