Güvenç Güven was born in 1958. He participated in various restoration projects such as Edirne Selimiye Mosque (1983 - 1985) and Istanbul Sultan Ahmet Mosque (1986 - 1988). He was also an instructor of hand-drawn art and  took calligraphy lessons from Mahmut Öncü, an instructor in Mimar Sinan University. He was also trained by Tahsin Aykutalp in drawing. He later took glazed tile lessons from Faik Kırımlı in 1995. Güvenç has produced classic Iznik ceramics and restored Ottoman ceramics.

Nursen Güven graduated from the Department of Industrial Design and of Traditional Turkish Art at Mimar Sinan University in 1983. She began her career as a restorer with her academic background in Edirne Selimiye Mosque. She then taught at her alma mater between 1990 and 2005.

In 1995, Güvenç and Nursen Güven established their own workshop. Since then, they have had over 20 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions and conferences both in Turkey and abroad. In 1998, they illuminated the interior of the King Fahd Mosque of Saudi Arabia in Los Angeles (1998); the interior of Mumin Mosque in Manama, Bahrain (2000). They participated in the Islam Art Congress and Exhibition in Isfahan (2002); in the International Congress and Exhibitions of Traditional Arts in Riyadh (2006) and represented Turkey. They won first prize in the First International Crafts Competition, which was held among the organization in Riyadh. In 2007, Nursen and Güvenç Güven had an exhibition in Hagia Sophia on the occasion of the 800th Anniversary of Mevlana. In the next year, they represented Turkey in the 8th International Muscat Festival, which was held in Amman. In 2009, they had their exhibition on the occasion of the 5th World Water Forum in Istanbul. In 2010, Güvenç participated in the 4th International Forum on Islam Art, Ceramic and Porcelain, which was held in Kuwait, and represented Turkey. Their works can be seen in various public and private collections both in Turkey and abroad.
