Fatma Kocakuşak was born in Nallıhan in 1974. She started learning how to make needle works (iğne oyaları) in her childhood. Kocakuşak attended classes for 3 years in a Public Education Center and developed her skills. As of today, she continues to design and make needle works and teaches at Public Education Center as a master teacher.
