Cemile Baybura was born in Istanbul in 1964. She finished Mithatpaşa Technical High School for Girls in 1983. After graduating from the Department of Wall Decoration in the Edirne Vocational College of Trakya University in 1986, she worked as an intern at Gorbon Işıl Art Workshop. Between 1987 and 1989, she worked in the restoration project at the Şale pavilion in the Yıldız Palace, and restored ceiling and wall paintings. Baybura continued her study and graduated from the Department of Traditional Turkish Handicrafts in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University in 1993. In 1995, she completed her master’s degree at Marmara University. Baybura has taught illumination art at the Turkish Culture Service Foundation, Caferağa Medresesi since 1993. She has also taught decorative painting there since 2004. She has participated in several group exhibitions in Turkey.
